Tiffany Gorman Thompson

Of Counsel

Tiffany’s practice includes commercial real estate, residential real estate, estate planning and administration, land use and development, construction, municipal law, and business and corporate matters.  She has spent more than 20 years helping clients through the biggest and most challenging moments of their lives.

Tiffany has a passion for real estate and has zealously represented clients through all aspects of the deal, from contract negotiation and due diligence, through financing and loan documentation, entitlement, construction, leasing and sale of real estate.  She has extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts.  She has represented individuals, builders, contractors, lenders, investors and not-for-profit entities in real estate transactions big and small; from residential real estate deals to multi-million-dollar projects.  Her experience in private practice and as a former underwriting counsel for a national title company allows her to quickly and competently address unusual issues that may arise in a real estate transaction.

Providing guidance to clients on estate and trust matters is a fulfilling area of her practice.  She believes that everyone should have a carefully considered plan for what will happen to their assets after they are gone.  Tiffany represents a wide variety of clients of all ages and enjoys finding estate planning solutions that fit with every stage of life.  As a mother of young children, she knows the importance of planning for your children’s future and ensuring that there are agents and guardians established to care for them if a worst-case scenario arises. As clients grow older and their health and living situations change, Tiffany provides guidance to help ensure assets are available for their care and protected for their intended beneficiaries.  She enjoys helping clients plan for the future and to that end, she prepares wills and trusts, powers of attorney for health care and property and represents clients in probate, trust administration and guardianship matters.

Tiffany advises clients on a wide variety of business and corporate matters including entity creation, management, mergers, acquisitions, and sales.  She drafts formation documentation for LLCs, corporations, and partnerships, prepares necessary filings and annual reports, drafts and amends operating agreements, bylaws, shareholder and partnership agreements, UCC financing statements, and resolutions.  She guides clients in keeping their entity record books up to date and properly documenting transfers of business interests.

Over the course of her career, Tiffany has represented numerous municipalities and governmental entities.  She has counseled elected officials and staff on annexation, zoning and land development, the Open Meetings Act, and the Freedom of Information Act and has prosecuted traffic and ordinance violations for several municipalities.  She currently serves on the Economic Development committee for the Village of Mokena.

Tiffany is an active member with the Illinois State Bar Association, Will County Bar Association and the Will County Women’s Bar Association and is a frequent presenter of continuing legal education seminars.
